Ngando Evangelistic Message
The Ngando guardians on January 16, 2010 heard the gospel about the importance of making the right decision while still living in the world. The evangelistic message facilitated by Francis Kataka, the Spiritual Site Manager sought to inform guardians on things that prevent people from making the right decision and the benefits of choosing Christ in their lives. Reading the Bible from Genesis 3:6 about the story of “Eve and the Serpent”, Francis pointed the love for food, pleasure of the eyes and the desire to increase in knowledge and be like God as things that prevented many from accepting Christ. In addition, 1 John 2:16 brought out the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and boasting of his achievements in this world as some of the other things that hindered many from accepting Christ as Lord of their lives. He referred to our achievements in this world temporal and hence the need to accept Jesus in our lives, a valuable thing that would outlast everything in this world. The benefits of accepting and following Christ were life after death and blessings both in the world and in the life to come. The story of “The Rich man and Lazarus” from Luke 16:19 indicated that the decision to choose eternal life was to be made while one was still alive. The Day of Judgment follows death. Francis reminded guardians that life is short. “Today make a choice for whoever believes will not be condemned,” he said. Francis concluded the session with a prayer for those with various needs. James Behr, CEO and Chairman of the Board asked guardians to help Ngando area grow by helping in recruiting those fitted CCP Sponsorship. He said this was important to run the program in a cost effective way and avail other programs to the guardians and children. He also urged parents to help children attend the Good News Clubs this year without fail as failure to do so would eliminate the families from receiving benefits such as Micro-Finance, Food and Medical help. After the training, all guardians received a bag of food for their families.
